Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the groundbreaking anime collaboration between Studio Trigger and CD PROJEKT RED, is finally making its Blu-ray debut in North America. Aniplex of America has announced that the complete series will be available in an exclusive limited edition Blu-ray box set, sold only through the Crunchyroll Store. Pre-orders are now open, and the official release date is set for October 28, 2025, making it a highly anticipated addition to any anime collection.
This special edition release is packed with content designed to celebrate the artistry and impact of Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The box set will feature a newly illustrated cover created by Yoh Yoshinari, the series’ character designer and animation director, who is also known for his work on Little Witch Academia. Fans will also receive a detailed production booklet filled with behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the anime, as well as a storyboard booklet for the final episode crafted by director Hiroyuki Imaishi, who previously worked on Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. To further enhance the collection, the set includes three reproduction cel sheets showcasing some of the anime’s most memorable scenes, along with a commemorative anniversary poster that highlights the series’ cultural influence two years after its release.
Originally premiering on Netflix in September 2022, Cyberpunk Edgerunners quickly became one of the most talked-about anime of its year. The series won Best New Anime and Best Original Anime in multiple awards and has remained a standout in the sci fi genre. Its reputation grew not only because of its bold animation style and cyberpunk setting but also due to its emotionally charged story about survival, love, and sacrifice in the chaotic streets of Night City.

Looking to the future, fans have even more reason to celebrate. A new Cyberpunk animated project titled Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 is already in production. This continuation will feature a completely new story, described as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. Directed by Kai Ikarashi, who previously helmed Episode 6 of the original series, the project will feature character designs by Ichigo Kanno and a screenplay by Masahiko Otsuka. With the success of the first anime, expectations for the second project are incredibly high.
