The hype around Demon Slayer continues to soar as Fandango officially announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is now its best-ever first-day ticket pre-seller for an anime film. Within just 24 hours of tickets going on sale, the movie outperformed the previous record holders Mugen Train and Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Jerramy Hainline, EVP of Fandango, praised the milestone, stating that the sheer demand is proof of anime’s growing power in global entertainment. He highlighted how the overwhelming fan response is a testament to the community’s passion and excitement for experiencing anime on the big screen.
Infinity Castle marks the beginning of a three-part cinematic conclusion to the massively popular Demon Slayer anime series, which adapts the final arc of Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga. The film is set for its U.S. theatrical release on September 12, 2025, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Fans who are Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan subscribers will also enjoy early screenings starting September 9.
Audiences will be able to choose between the Japanese version with English subtitles or an English-dubbed version. Screenings will also include IMAX and other premium formats, making it one of the grandest theatrical rollouts ever for an anime movie. With a confirmed runtime of 155 minutes, it promises to deliver a visually stunning and emotionally charged experience.
In Japan, the film has already shattered expectations, grossing over 25 billion yen within its first month of release and securing a spot as the third highest-grossing Japanese film of all time. The combination of breathtaking animation from ufotable and the emotional weight of the story has positioned Infinity Castle as a cultural event rather than just another anime release.
With its record-breaking performance before release and massive anticipation worldwide, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is shaping up to be one of the most important anime films in history.
