The high-octane sound of Paledusk has found its newest stage in the world of anime. Their latest track “HUGs,” which serves as the opening theme for the Gachiakuta anime, now has a full music video streaming on the band’s official YouTube channel. With its thunderous energy and emotional depth, the song captures both the rebellious tone and spirit of the original manga series.

The collaboration between Paledusk and the creators of Gachiakuta came together through sheer mutual admiration. Manga creator Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou personally reached out to the band, expressing their desire to have a sound that matched the pulse of their story. In response, Paledusk crafted “HUGs” from scratch, embedding their explosive musical style with the essence of Gachiakuta’s dark world.

Urana praised the result as more than just a theme song, calling it a track that carries the soul of the anime. He believes “HUGs” will fire up both longtime fans and new viewers, especially those seeing the anime for the first time. Andou echoed the excitement, urging everyone to experience the track live, promising that the band’s live shows will elevate the intensity even further.

The CD single for “HUGs” is set to release in Japan on September 17, 2025, but the digital version is already making waves. In just one day, the official music video crossed 100,000 views, proving the overwhelming support for the anime and the band’s growing popularity.

Gachiakuta premiered on July 6, 2025, and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll across multiple regions including North and South America, Europe, Oceania, and the Indian subcontinent. The anime is directed by Fumihiko Suganuma and animated by BONES FILM. Hiroshi Seko oversees the series composition, with character design by Satoshi Ishino and music by Taku Iwasaki.

The anime follows Rudo, a boy from the slums of a floating city who is falsely accused of murder and thrown into the abyss with the rest of the city’s trash. Down below, in a wasteland plagued by monstrous creatures, he finds a new chance at life and vengeance by joining a rebel group called the Cleaners.

With its gritty themes and raw emotion, Gachiakuta is quickly becoming one of the standout titles of the season. And thanks to Paledusk, it now has a theme song just as powerful as its story.
