In their statement, the production committee apologized for the inconvenience caused by the rescheduling, thanking viewers for their patience and understanding. They also assured fans that the team is committed to making The Barbarian’s Bride an anime that will be cherished for years to come. The voice cast for the series features an exciting lineup, including Sayumi Suzushiro as Serafina de Lavillant, Satoshi Inomata as Veor, Kana Hishikawa as Tsetsi, and Aki Toyosaki as Marcius. Fans can already hear the cast in action through the main trailer, which offers a first look at the characters and dramatic tone of the story.

The Barbarian’s Bride, also known as Himekishi wa Barbaroi no Yome or The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King, is based on the manga written by Noriaki Kotoba. The series has been serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine since January 2021 and was officially announced for adaptation in October 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment holds the English license for the manga.

The story follows Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest female knight of the West, who is sent to subjugate the tribes of the East. After a failed mission, she is captured and humiliated, believing that torture or execution awaits her. Instead, the tribe’s leader surprises her with an unexpected proposal of marriage. What begins as a clash between cultures may slowly reveal a deeper tale of respect, understanding, and unexpected love.
