The quirky and heartwarming series Tis Time for Torture Princess is officially returning for a second season, and fans now have a fresh trailer to enjoy. The trailer highlights the arrival of a new character named Sakura Heartrock, adding more charm and excitement to a story that has already captured audiences with its mix of comedy, fantasy, and deliciously unusual “tortures.”

Studio Pine Jam, the team behind the first season, is back to animate the continuation. The first season aired in January 2024 with twelve episodes that quickly became a fan favorite. Directed by Yoko Kanamori, the show featured bright visuals, witty direction, and music by Masaru Yokoyama, blending lighthearted humor with fantasy themes. The main cast included Haruka Shiraishi as Princess, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Excalibur, Shizuka Ito as Torture Tortura, and Tessho Genda as Hell-Lord.

The anime is based on the manga by Robinson Haruhara and Hirakei, which began serialization in April 2019 on Shonen Jump Plus and officially concluded on August 19, 2025. The story follows a Princess who, despite wielding the legendary sword Excalibur, is captured in battle and imprisoned by the Hellhorde. Instead of brutal methods, her “tortures” come in the form of irresistible food temptations like freshly baked bread and steaming bowls of ramen, creating a comedic twist that makes the series stand out from traditional fantasy tales.

Season 2 promises to build on this unique premise while expanding its character roster with Sakura Heartrock. With Pine Jam’s animation and the returning production team, fans can expect the same lively spirit and humor that made the first season so entertaining, along with fresh surprises to keep the story engaging.

The new season will begin airing in January 2026, and with Crunchyroll continuing to stream the series, international fans will once again have easy access to the Princess’s misadventures.
