Demon Slayer fans in Japan are in for a cinematic experience like never before as Infinity Castle prepares for a special release in MX4D and 4DX formats. Starting August 15, the film will begin a one-week run in select theatres that offer full-motion seating, environmental effects, and heightened immersion to transport viewers directly into Muzan Kibutsuji’s lair. This limited preview will be followed by a nationwide rollout on August 30 across seventy-four theatres.
To celebrate the 4D release, a new poster visual has been unveiled, and a special “4D Visual Original Sticker” will be distributed to the first three hundred thousand attendees during the wide release. These screenings are expected to add a new level of intensity and realism to what is already one of the most action-packed arcs in the Demon Slayer franchise.
Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and animated by studio Ufotable, Infinity Castle brings back key creative talent from earlier arcs. Akira Matsushima returns as Chief Animation Director and Character Designer, with music by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina heightening the emotional stakes. The film originally premiered in Japan on July 18 and is already making waves as the tenth highest-grossing film in the country within just seventeen days. It is set to release in the United States and Canada on September 12.
The story picks up as Tanjiro Kamado and his comrades continue their fierce journey within the Demon Slayer Corps. Following their intense training under the Hashira, the final confrontation draws near. Muzan Kibutsuji launches a sudden assault on the Ubuyashiki Mansion, plunging the heroes into the eerie and treacherous depths of the Infinity Castle. With the Demon Slayer Corps now cornered, the stage is set for the climactic showdown between humans and demons.
For fans eager to relive or enhance the theatrical thrill, this 4D release offers a chance to feel every slash, rumble, and emotional beat in a truly visceral way.
