Fans of My Hero Academia are in for a surprise as the popular spin-off My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions is returning with a brand-new one-shot chapter. The new release will be published in the next issue of Shueisha’s Saikyo Jump magazine on December 4, marking the first new content since the manga’s conclusion earlier this year.

The announcement was made in the magazine’s December issue, confirming that creator Yoko Akiyama will return to write and illustrate the new chapter. While specific story details remain under wraps, the news has sparked excitement among fans eager to revisit the spin-off’s lively world of teamwork and hero training.

Revisiting Team-Up Missions

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions expands on Kohei Horikoshi’s main series, following Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School as they join students from other hero schools and professional heroes for unique missions under the “Team-Up Program.” The series explores how young heroes learn cooperation, strategy, and adaptability beyond the classroom.

The spin-off began with a prologue chapter in Jump Giga in July 2019 before launching officially in Saikyo Jump the following month. It concluded on January 4, 2024, after five years of publication, with its eighth and final volume released on May 2. Viz Media publishes the manga in English across North America.

The Ever-Growing My Hero Academia Universe

The main My Hero Academia manga by Horikoshi concluded in August 2024, wrapping up over a decade of storytelling that has defined modern shonen. The franchise has since expanded into eight anime seasons, multiple films, light novels, and several spin-offs, including Vigilantes and Team-Up Missions.

Adding to this momentum, a live-action adaptation by Legendary Entertainment is currently in development, further proving the franchise’s global appeal.

With the new one-shot, Akiyama’s return marks a nostalgic yet fresh chapter for fans, promising to rekindle the spirit of collaboration and heroism that made Team-Up Missions a standout addition to the My Hero Academia universe.
